Morning Noon & Night!  This pattern has several variations and you can make up to a king size quilt!

Hexie Garden.  No set in seams.  Terry has a special way of making the blocks, similar to 9 patch units.  How fun are  "Hexies"?

A new kit, "Candy Sticks" is now available online.

Pattern is also available separately.  But let us do the fabric selection and some cutting for you.  The kit contains (30) pre cut 2 1/2" strips in pinks to purples and (25) 1/8th yard cuts in yellows, oranges, reds and purples.  This is a simple strip pieced quilt, the trick is in the gradation of colors.

We are now carrying 2 magazines from Interweave from the editors of "Quilting Arts" magazine.  I am a magazine junky!  I will admit!

This is the coolest magazine ever!!!  Tons of interesting, modern projects!  This is the Spring 2013 issue.  This publication will come out twice a year.

Judith finished piecing this "Hopscotch" quilt using Malka Dubrawsky's latest line "Simple Marks" Summer.  Andrew's quilting is really amazing!

Last Saturday was our "Challenge" luncheon.  This challenge was called "Build Your Best Log Cabin"  The entries were so varied and creative.  Here are some of the results...

Claire's color combinations and quilting were amazing!

This is Arlyn's giant "Courthouse Steps" in solids.  Love her color selections.  The quilting, done on her domestic sewing machine was marvelous!  The lines were quilted one inch apart...wow!

"Sea Horses" done by Adelaide, was really cool!

All in all we had 10 entries and 15 ladies for lunch.  Which was delish as usual!  Our next Challenge Event is scheduled for November 2013.  The challenge topic is still to be decided, so stay tuned.

A few customer quilts to share.  First is a King Size "Stripe It Rich"!  Wilma did a fantastic job of piecing this beauty.  Andrew will do the quilting.

A Few April Quilts

Here are some of our latest creations...

This pattern is called "Suburbs" from Cluck Cluck Sew and Alison R. Harris.

Most of the print fabrics are from Sue Spargo's latest line from Robert Kaufman, called "Folkloric". The background is white Kona.

Andrew's quilting is amazing...every house is different!

Judith finished her "Confetti" dots quilt.  These dots are from "Dear Stella Fabrics".  Jude stitched up a bunch of halfsquare triangles for this rainbow inspired design.

Love the backing fabric choice! 

We still have snow around!

Gracie loves it and perfers the snow to her bed!

Another "Swirly Girl" Perfect Ten quilt using White Birch Cove fabric from Red Rooster.

This pattern suits itself to those large prints or panels.

Susan Balch will be teaching her "Naturescape" series of classes in April.  There are four workshops in this spring session.  Saturday, April 13th, 20th, 27th and May 4th.  The cost is $140 for the four classes.  You will create a wall hanging from a favorite photo.  Here is a project from a student in our last session...

Our first quilter's challenge for 2013 is underway.  It is not too late to enter!  This is a "Log Cabin" style quilt challenge.  We are amazed at the different ways you can create a log cabin style quilt.  Our Shop Hop quilt is a log cabin!  Forget the traditional ideas this type of quilt may bring to mind, look...

We have just received a large "Shot Cotton" order from Westminster Fibers.  These woven solids go with Kaffe's woven stripes and his newest book "Shots And Stripes". I can't decide which project from the book to make first.

March

Our first series of workshops with Susan Balch ended last Saturday. The Intuitive Quilting group surpassed all expectations in their creativity and style.  Most of the projects are now ready for quilting and embellishing.  This is Linda O.'s work of art...

Deb has been saving this Geisha fabric for just the right project...I think this is it.  She plans on beading and lots of hand embellishment.

Sara still has a ways to go, but so far the results are fascinating...

The group interaction was amazing and they formed some lasting bonds as they shared ideas and opinions throughout the classes.  Of course, Susan was present to lend her expert guidance and knowledge of design and color.

Our next series of workshops with Susan will start on Saturday, April, 13th and will run for 4 Saturdays ending on May 4th.  This will be the Naturescape series.  Here is a project from our winter session...

This is Truddi G's work of art!  Wow.  Hope you can make the next series in April.  Check your schedule and call ASAP as we can only take 6 students. 

New fabric is arriving daily and we are gearing up for the Vermont Shop Hop which starts on Friday, March 15th and runs thru Sunday March 25th.  We will be open from 9-6 every day including that Monday!  On the last day, Sunday, we will close at 3 PM.  Have you bought your passport yet?

Here is one of our latest quilt samples, made up to feature a pattern by Sweet Jane called Bella Notte.  We used the Juggling Summer line from Zen Chic and Brigitte Heitland for Moda and Kona cotton in Lavendar for the background.  Pieced by Judith and quilted by Andrew...

I made this sample using the Off The Rail pattern by Julie Herman for JayBird Quilts. This is a charm square quilt in a log cabin style.  The Kaffe Fassett Charm Square Bundle in Classic Blue was my inspiration for the other fabrics in this project.

Using a pre cut bundle takes the mystery out of figuring out what colors work with what!  I love the Spot in "Duck Egg"!

Just in...Kaffe Fassett's latest book "Shots And Stripes"...

This might be my favorite Kaffe book yet!  Inside you will find gorgeous quilts and patterns using only his shot cottons and striped fabrics.  It just so happens we have just about all of the stripes and will have, when they are available, most of the shot cottons used in the book!  If you are doing the Shop Hop, and are a passport holder, you will get 30% off any book in the store by using the  Waterwheel House coupon in the passport!

This quilt pattern came from the book "Modern Minimal" by Alissa Haight Carlton.  It is a really chic quilt!

Ooooh...and just this second we received this line from Dear Stella called "Kyani" 

"Surround yourself with beautiful blues!" 

We will be kitting this quilt designed by Missy Shepler for "Dear Stella" fabrics...

A single fabric for the center panel, then a series of borders will make this 76.5"x 87" bed size quilt a snap to make.  Need a quilt in a hurry?
